David M. Taus

Mr. Taus received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1985 and his degree in Economics from Lafayette College in 1982. He is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, New York State Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York. Mr. Taus is also admitted to practice before the Bankruptcy Courts for those same Federal Districts. He is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, as well as the Bankruptcy Law and Family Law sections of the New Jersey State Bar.
Mr. Taus devotes a significant portion of his practice to Family Law matters, including but not limited to dissolutions and annulments, child support and child custody matters, adoptions, guardianships and post-judgment applications. In his more than 35 years of experience of practice in these areas, he has represented innumerable clients with compassion, understanding and professionalism. This experience includes handling divorce cases through settlement or trial, if necessary. Mr. Taus has also served as a panelist on the Passaic County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel since 2006.
Mr. Taus also has significant experience in Bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 7 liquidations, Chapter 11 reorganizations and Chapter 13 wage earner bankruptcy cases as both counsel for debtors and counsel for creditors. In his more than 35 years of practice in this area, he has successfully represented countless debtors and creditors. This experience includes handling litigation attendant to adversary proceedings and other contested matters, and his general practice background in areas such as collection matters, real estate, estate and trust matters and litigation, commercial litigation and matrimonial litigation has helped serve clients well.
